Description
We are seeking a Board Certified neurologist for locum tenens coverage at HCA Florida First Coast Neurology in Orange Park, Florida. This role involves hospital inpatient and affiliated rehabilitation facility coverage, including responding to stroke alerts from the main hospital and three freestanding emergency departments. No outpatient clinic responsibilities are required.
The schedule consists of 5 to 10 consecutive 24-hour shifts per assignment, with day shifts (7 AM to 7 PM) focused on inpatient rounding, consults, and stroke alerts, and night call (7 PM to 7 AM) for rare stroke alerts and possible hospital calls. The pay averages $243 per hour. Patient volume typically starts around 12 patients but may increase to 20.
Requirements include a Florida medical license, Board Certification, ability to read EEGs, and BLS certification. Support staff includes nursing and technicians. EMR systems used are Meditech, PatientKeeper, and eClinicalWorks. Orientation is required the day before the first shift, and IT will ensure system access beforehand.
