Description
VEA Health is seeking a full-time Emergency Medicine Physician (MD/DO) to join the growing emergency department at DeTar Hospital North in Victoria, Texas. This 115-bed acute care facility features a 7-bed ED with Level IV Trauma Center designation, handling 16,000 annual visits and a broad patient age mix. Enjoy a manageable daily volume averaging 43 patients with a low admission rate of 3% and transfer rate of 2%, supported by an established care team.
Physicians work 12-hour shifts (8:00 AM – 8:00 PM or 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM) with APP coverage during high-volume seasons. Average physician productivity is 1.8 patients per hour. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
Qualifications include Board Certification or Eligibility in Emergency Medicine, or Board Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine with ED experience. ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications are required (ATLS waived for BC Emergency Medicine physicians). EMR is MedHost, and patient satisfaction is tracked through reporting and accountability.
