Description
We are seeking a Physician Assistant to join our Emergency Medicine team in Del Rio, Texas, due to growth. This is a permanent staff position in a Level IV Trauma Center with 12 ED beds and a 4-bed Express Care staffed by APPs. The annual ED volume is 25,500 (about 70 visits per day), with a 10% admission rate and 5% transfer rate. Specialty backup includes General Surgery, Urology, OB/GYN, Interventional Cardiology, Nephrology, Interventional Radiology, and Pediatrics.
Shifts for APPs are 10am-8pm or 4pm-2am. Credentialing takes 90-160 days, and contract length is 3 months to 1 year. Required certifications include ACLS, ATLS, and PALS (BC/EM not required). The EMR is Meditech Expanse. Travel, hotel, and car rental are covered for locums-to-perm candidates.
