Description
We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our team at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In this PRN role with rotating shifts, you will assist nursing staff and physicians in providing care to a diverse patient population, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Your responsibilities will include performing routine treatment procedures, wound care, splinting, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and stocking patient care areas.
This position offers an average pay of $18 per hour, with a range of $16.15 to $20.06, plus an additional $6.00 per hour safety incentive pay. Shift differentials are available: $17 for weekday nights, $26 for weekend nights, and $15 for weekend days. As a PRN employee (0.05 FTE), you will enjoy flexibility while making a meaningful impact in a correctional healthcare setting.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, at least six months of directly related experience, and current CPR for Healthcare Providers/BLS certification (within 30 days of hire). An Emergency Medical Technician Basic License is required. Bilingual skills in English/Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, Navajo, or Spanish are preferred but not essential. Physical demands are heavy, requiring exertion of 50 to 100 pounds occasionally. You must obtain and maintain MDC security clearance and be willing to work in close proximity to incarcerated individuals. Tuberculosis testing is required upon hire and as needed.
If you are a compassionate EMT ready to take on a challenging and rewarding role, we encourage you to apply today.
