Permanent Medical Surgical Float Registered Nurse

Mercy is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for our Medical Surgical Float Pool in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In this permanent staff position, you will provide patient-centered care by supporting physicians in all aspects of patient care, including rooming patients, taking vitals, administering medications, and performing phlebotomy. You will also serve as a clinical scribe, documenting encounters in real-time using EPIC.

This is a day shift role with 40 scheduled weekly hours. While pay is not disclosed, external applicants are eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000. You will work in a supportive environment with opportunities to collaborate across departments and provide care coordination for surgical patients.

Requirements include current Medical Assistant certification and BLS certification from the American Heart Association. Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse and Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training must be completed prior to start. One year of medical office experience is preferred.
