Description
St. Tammany Health System in Covington, LA, is seeking a dedicated Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our perioperative team. As an OR RN, you will be responsible for planning and directing the care of every patient undergoing operative and invasive procedures, utilizing the nursing process and collaborating with the surgical team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a scenic, community-oriented area on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain.
This is a full-time, permanent position with 40 scheduled weekly hours, Monday through Friday, with call required. Shifts available are 6:15am-2:45pm or 10:30am-7pm. A recruitment incentive is available. You must be able to work flexible shifts and be available in-house within 30 minutes when on call.
Requirements include graduation from an NLN-accredited nursing school, a current Louisiana RN license, BLS certification (obtained during orientation if needed), and ALS certification within 6 months of hire. At least one year of Surgery RN experience is required, with two years preferred. CNOR certification is preferred. Physical demands include standing, sitting, or walking for long periods and lifting at least 50 pounds.
