Permanent Patient Care Technician

Mercy in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our patient-centered care team. In this role, you will perform essential tasks and support functions under the supervision of a Licensed Nurse, ensuring safe and effective patient care. You may also fulfill an expanded role by performing additional duties as delegated by your department.

Your responsibilities will include communicating clinically relevant information with patients, families, and coworkers; observing and reporting changes in patient condition; maintaining accurate documentation; and responding to emergencies within your scope of practice. You will also assist in maintaining a clean and organized environment, prioritize daily tasks, and support quality improvement initiatives.

This is a permanent, staff position with hourly pay. While pay is not disclosed, we offer a supportive work environment. Previous PCT or CNA experience is preferred, along with a high school diploma or equivalent and current BLS certification. Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse and Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training must be completed prior to start.
