Permanent Pharmacist Inpatient

Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is seeking dedicated Clinical Pharmacists to join our acute care and transition teams. In this role, you will be a valued member of the healthcare team, working in patient care areas and rotating through the central inpatient pharmacy. You'll be involved in all aspects of patient care, including bedside rounds with providers and nurses, medication dosing and monitoring, antibiotic de-escalation, and precepting students and residents. When in the central pharmacy, you'll oversee sterile compounding and ensure accurate medication distribution.

This is a full-time, staff position with rotating shifts including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays. External applicants can earn up to a $15,000 sign-on bonus, and a $5,000 relocation bonus is available for those relocating 75+ miles from the main campus. The pay is salary-based, though the specific amount is not disclosed.

Requirements include a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, and a current Iowa Pharmacist License or eligibility for licensure. Two years of clinical experience and completion of an ASHP residency are preferred. BLS and ACLS certification, as well as BCPS, are also preferred. You must complete Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse and Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training.
