Description
Join University of New Mexico Hospital as the Director of Behavioral Health for the UPC Inpatient Adult Services unit. In this leadership role, you will direct and coordinate clinical and management activities to ensure quality patient care across one or more units. You will support education and research in collaboration with the Unit Medical Director, and actively contribute to programs aligned with long-range strategic objectives. The position is full-time, day shift, with a pay range of $53.29 to $82.51 per hour (average $68/hr). Relocation assistance is available.
As Director, you will plan, coordinate, and supervise supervisory, technical, and professional staff, including hiring, training, and performance management. You will establish standards and objectives for the clinical unit, ensure compliance with policies, and monitor patient care delivery and documentation. You will also develop and administer the annual budget, maintain departmental records, and serve as a liaison between patients, families, physicians, and staff. Your role includes fostering a culture aligned with the organization's Behaviors of Excellence and participating in leadership meetings to support throughput, quality, safety, and experience.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Nursing required (BSN); MSN or DNP preferred. Must have current RN license in New Mexico or compact state, and BLS certification within 30 days. Two years of directly related experience required. Physical demands are light work, with occasional lifting up to 20 pounds. Working conditions involve potential exposure to chemicals and biohazardous materials, requiring PPE. Tuberculosis testing is required upon hire and as needed.
