Description
CentraCare in Willmar, MN is seeking a dedicated Financial Counselor to join their team. In this role, you will work with patients virtually or in person to provide information about anticipated expenses, insurance coverage, payment options, and financial assistance programs. You will need in-depth knowledge of Medicaid and affiliated programs to best meet patient needs, handling accounts to enhance patient experience and minimize bad debts.
This is a full-time position working 80 hours every two weeks, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The starting pay is $21.12 per hour, with a pay range of $21.12 to $31.68 per hour based on experience. Qualifications include an Associate Degree in business or healthcare (or 2 years relevant experience), proficiency with Microsoft Office, and ability to obtain HPE and MNsure certification within 60 days. Experience with billing and collection principles is preferred. Strong communication, listening, and customer service skills are essential. Core duties include screening patients for assistance programs, completing Medicaid applications, collecting payments, and documenting in required systems.
