Description
VEA Health is seeking a full-time Hospitalist Physician Assistant to join our growing inpatient program at Val Verde Regional Medical Center in Del Rio, Texas. This is a supportive hospitalist opportunity with APP collaboration, open ICU care, and strong specialty representation. You'll work alongside board-certified physicians and a dedicated team to provide high-quality care to our community.
The schedule features 24-hour coverage with onsite report at 7:00 AM and telephonic availability after rounding. APP coverage includes a day shift from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a flex shift for additional daytime surge support including weekends. The annual hospitalist encounters are 5,110 with an average of 14 daily visits and 4 admissions per day. No procedures are required, and teleneurology is available 24/7 for stroke support.
Qualifications include board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine with hospitalist experience, plus ACLS and BLS certifications. The facility is a 25-bed acute care hospital with a Level IV Trauma Center and a new 19-bed Emergency Department. Strong specialty support includes General Surgery, Orthopedics, Radiology, Wound Care, and Cardiology. EMR is Meditech Expanse. Join us and make a difference in Del Rio!
