Description
As a Patient Access Representative, you will fulfill patient registration requirements for Admission, Outpatient, and Emergency Department settings. This includes accurately collecting and recording required information, obtaining legal signatures for consent, and collecting payments such as co-payments and deposits. You will conduct confidential, professional interviews with patients or legal next of kin, assessing their emotional state and providing supportive dialogue while ensuring understanding of hospital policies.
This role involves arranging transportation for patients from the emergency department to their home or another facility, coordinating transfers, and assisting medical practitioners with laboratory callbacks by contacting patients and calling in prescriptions. You will also transcribe physician orders, enter orders into the clinical information system, answer phones, and maintain departmental logs. Participation in staff meetings, in-service education, and performance improvement projects is required.
This is a permanent staff position in New Brunswick, NJ, offering an average pay of $22 per hour. No specific clinical specialty is required; this role is administrative in nature. Benefits may be discussed during the interview process.
