Permanent Security Officer

Mercy in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Permanent Security Officer to join our team. In this role, you will support our philosophy of patient-centered care by providing a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Your duties will include proactive patrols, responding to emergencies, monitoring access and CCTV, and preparing reports. You will work a variable rotating shift including days, evenings, nights, and weekends, with 20 scheduled weekly hours.

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent (relevant experience may be considered), a valid driver's license with a good driving record, and the ability to obtain a Professional or Non-Professional Weapons Carry Permit within 90 days. Preferred experience includes security, healthcare, law enforcement, or military background. Strong communication, teamwork, and basic computer skills are essential.
